PG Department of English organized a One Day National Seminar on “STATE OF FEMINISM IN 21ST CENTURY: ISSUES AND PROSPECTS”

PG Department of English, Khalsa College for Women organised a One Day National Seminar on “STATE OF FEMINISM IN 21ST CENTURY: ISSUES AND PROSPECTS” on September 20, 2024. The seminar incorporated dignitaries and paper presenters from all over India. The event progressed with an Inaugural Address by Dr. Gurupdesh Singh, Former Professor and Head, Department of English, Guru Nanak Dev University.The Keynote Speaker, Dr. Charu Sharma, Associate Professor of Govt. College of Teacher Education, Himachal Pradesh, provided her valuable insights on womanhood, which generated a lively discussion. The Inaugural Session was followed by a Technical Session chaired by Dr. Sumneet Kaur, Associate Professor of Department of English, GNDU and Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of English, GNDU. The Technical Session was a resounding success, featuring engaging paper presentations and expert insights from speakers. The Valedictory Session was presided over by Dr. Gauri Handa, Associate Professor, Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib, as the Guest of Honour and co-chaired Dr. Ujjal Jeet, Assistant Professor, Department of English, GNDU. The principal of the college, Dr. Surinder Kaur, appreciated the efforts of the Department of English for conducting a National Seminar on such a thought-provoking topic. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Convenor and Head of Department, Prof. Samandeep Kaur Gill.
