National Science Day was celebrated on 27th February 2025 at Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar commemorating the remarkable contribution of scientists and promoting scientific temper among students and staff. The event was organized by joint efforts of Association of Indian Physicists Club and Department of Sciences. The Chief Patron of the event was Dr. Surinder Kaur, Principal Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar The proposed theme for the event was
“Sustainable Energy Resources”
Various activities were organized as part of the celebration, including poster presentations and Scientific Rangoli Making Competitions. Students actively participated, showcasing their innovative projects and ideas, which reflected their enthusiasm and creativity in scientific advancements. An expert lecture on “Energy Resources and Energy Storage Devices” was delivered by Prof. Atul Khanna, which shed light on the importance of sustainable energy solutions. The session discussed various energy resources, including renewable energy such as solar, wind, and hydropower, and their role in addressing the global energy crisis. Additionally, the session explored energy storage devices like batteries, supercapacitors, and fuel cells, emphasizing their significance in enhancing energy efficiency and supporting the transition to clean energy.
The winners of the competitions were felicitated with certificates and prizes by Dr. Surinder Kaur and Prof. Atul Khanna, encouraging them to pursue their interest in science. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Manbir Kaur, Head Department of Sciences, acknowledging the efforts of all participants, organizers, especially AlP club for their financial assistance and faculty members of department of sciences in making the celebration a success.
The Science Day celebration served as a platform to ignite curiosity, inspire innovation, and foster a love for science among students, making the event truly memorable.
