Placement Cell, Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar have always worked for empowering the female students. The college starts working on holistic development of student from the day one of admission. These efforts are proven in various placement drives conducted at campus.

2024-25

The Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar, organised an engaging and informative career guidance session titled “Career Pe Charcha” on February 25, 2025 for final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students across all streams. The event aimed to empower students with practical insights and strategies to navigate their professional journeys effectively.

The college’s esteemed Principal, Dr. Surinder Kaur, graced the event and lauded the initiative, emphasising its significance in bridging the gap between academia and industry. The guests were warmly welcomed by Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Head, Department of Computer Science and Dr. Mandeep Gulati, the Placement Director.

The session featured esteemed guests from Career Launcher Centre, including Mr. Gautam Aggarwal (Centre Director) and Mr. Shubham Sharma (Vertical Head), who shared their expertise on career-building avenues. Mr. Gautam Aggarwal encouraged the students to pursue internships to gain hands-on experience, build practical skills, and craft a compelling CV. Emphasis was placed on mastering aptitude and reasoning skills, deemed essential for competitive exams and recruitment processes.

Mr. Shubham Sharma dedicated the final 15 minutes to an engaging question-and-answer round, where he provided guidance on: Preparatory strategies for CA/CS exams and government competitive exams and balancing traditional career paths with unconventional opportunities like content creation.

The session concluded on a motivational note, with the Principal and faculty commending the guests for their practical and forward-thinking insights. Students left equipped with actionable strategies to chart their career paths confidently. The event underscored the college’s commitment to foster holistic development and industry readiness among its students.

The Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar, successfully hosted a ‘Mock Interview’ session for final-year students to simulate real-world interview scenarios across various streams on Oct 3-4, 2024. Students gained valuable insights, honed their communication skills, and received constructive feedback, which will help them to build confidence for future job opportunities. The session was an enriching experience for students.

The Career Counselling and Placement Cell in collaboration with PG Dept. of Computer Science, hosted an enlightening seminar on ‘Tech Trends for Young Graduates’ with Mr. Gagandeep Singh, Data Analyst at AOSC Technologies./

The key topics included Business Intelligence, AI, Cyber Security, and Human-Machine Collaboration, with hands-on demos of Microsoft Power Platform tools and Azure Cloud Services. Students explored exciting tech trends and career paths, including internships for Jr. Developer, Business Analyst, and Digital Marketing Trainee roles. A truly insightful session on harnessing technology for a successful future.

2023-24

2 days Seminar on Mastering Data Analytics with power BI as a Research Tool (26 Sep. 2023)

Computer Club under the aegis of PG Department of Computer Science, Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar in Collaboration with Career Counseling and Placement Cell organized a seminar on “2 days Seminar on Mastering Data Analytics with Power BI as a Research Tool ” for students on 26-27 Sept. 2023 by Mr .Gagandeep Singh Recruitment Manager AOSC India Pvt. Ltd. and Ms. Aashima Sharma, team Leader AOSC India Pvt. ltd.. More than 100 students attended the seminar. The seminar from AOSC was focused on upskilling students for careers in the growing field of IT. They provided valuable insights for using Power BI as a research tool for data analysis and presentation. The speakers from AOSC emphasized the importance of gaining practical experience in strategies for doing so. They also encouraged students to pursue their passions and interests within the Power BI field. The seminar offered an opportunity in data analytics, allowing students to learn Power BI for transforming data from multiple sources into interactive dashboards and valuable reports.Also, they gave a brief knowledge about basic operations to learn data analytics in an effective way Overall, the seminar provided valuable guidance and insights for students interested in pursuing careers in Data Analytics, and helped to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Career Counseling Programme

Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar, a distinguished institution known for its commitment to holistic education, hosted an enlightening Career Counselling Programme on 13 September 2023. The program featured esteemed Chartered Accountant, Mr. Rohit Narang, as the guest speaker. This event was part of the college’s ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive guidance and support to its students in shaping their professional futures.

Commerce Club under the aegis of PG Department of Commerce and Management, in association with Career Counselling & Placement Cell, Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar organised this insightful Career Counselling Programme to equip its students with the knowledge and guidance they need to make informed decisions about their academic and professional paths. Mr. Rohit Narang, a highly regarded figure in the field of finance, shared his expertise and insights during the session.

2022-23

• Career Counseling and placement cell of  Khalsa College for women, Amritsar organized an On-campus placement drive of ICICI Bank on 1st May, 2023. 65 Final year students of various streams participated in this drive. The recruiters appreciated the placement preparedness of the students and selected 50 students for interview round. 28 students were finally selected by the bank. Dr Surinder Kaur, principal, congratulated the students on their achievement.

• Placement & Career Counselling Cell, Khalsa college for Women, Amritsar organised placement drive of Think Germany today in campus. Final year students participated in the placement drive. The recruiters appreciated the placement preparedness of the students. Principal, Dr. Surinder Kaur congratulated the selected students.

• Placement Cell, Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar organised a session on “Career Counselling” for faculty and students on 07 February 2023 in Auditorium. More than 175 students attended the session. The students were informed about the various opportunities available in India after their graduation. Resource person Mr. Jitender Kumar, stressed on importance of gaining knowledge, learning from your failures, role of sacrifices and focus in shaping the future career of students.

In the placement drive of Science Genic, out of 93 students from various streams who appeared for interview 43 students got selected and 16 have been waitlisted.
