Furthermore, the college has lately made headlines after being conferred Autonomous Status by UGC. The privilege of being an Autonomous college has bestowed us with a new vision which aims at imparting world class education to its female students and also to empower them to become highly competent and creative individuals. The learners will be significantly benefitted by the academic and operational autonomy of the college. They will have flexibility to do degree and diploma courses simultaneously. The four year degree program at UG level is designed to cater the multidisciplinary approach of NEP and to address the changing needs of students and society. The courses based on the life skills and employability skills are also made an integral part of the curriculum. Moreover, the students will have the choice of multiple exits and will be awarded credits and certificates accordingly. Internships and industrial training are made an essential part of various courses.
Even the college furnishes its students with myriad opportunities through a range of Skill Oriented Courses, Add-on Courses, Value Added Courses and Certificate Courses. The institute has expanded its curriculum by introducing six Certificate Courses and Distance Learning Courses under Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala. The college is also running many courses offered by National Skill Development Corporation under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yozana. The pursuit of excellence in all fields has ever remained our ideal. This vision has assisted the college to draw students from all over India and abroad.
Keeping in consideration the guidelines of NEP, the college focuses on holistic development of students by regularly conducting seminars, guest lectures, practical training sessions, industrial visits, educational tours and above all by adopting innovative and ICT based teaching strategies. Students are highly motivated to take on leadership roles enhanced by exposure and interaction with experts. The focus of the college is on the individual student’s journey and on celebrating his or her unique strength and talents.
